Choosing where you're going to live is one of the most exciting parts of coming to University! Make sure you choose the accommodation that will suit you best by doing some research via our website before you apply.

You'll be able to log in to book your accommodation 24 hours after accepting a conditional or unconditional offer to study a full-time course at ARU.

If you have any problems with logging in or applying please contact the Residential Service.

Chelmsford accommodation availability update:

Accommodation in Chelmsford will only be available to students who will be over 18 years old at the start of the contract.

Current Students

There are rooms available on our student village for current students. Please email essexaccom@aru.ac.uk or visit us in the Queens Building to find out more and book one of these rooms.

Our House Hunting team will also be able to assist students looking for accommodation in the Private Sector. please contact our House Hunting team by email househunting@aru.ac.uk.


Writtle Accommodation Availability update

Accommodation in Writtle will only be available to students who will be over 18 years old at the start of the contract.

Current Students

There are rooms available in University accommodation for current students. Please email Writtleaccom@aru.ac.uk or visit our office to find out more and book one of these rooms.

Cambridge accommodation availability update:

Accommodation options in Cambridge will only be available to students who will be over 18 years old at the start of the contract.

Current Students

There are a variety of rooms available in Cambridge for current students. Please email camaccom@aru.ac.uk or visit us in the Eastings Building to find out more and book one of these rooms.

Nursing/Midwifery/ODP and Paramedic Science Students starting in September 2026

Your course teaching weeks will be longer than most of our contracts. If you book a room at CB1 or a non ensuite room in Collier Rd or The YMCA, we will update your booking to a 50 week contract at that accommodation type.

If you do not wish to book a 50 week contract, you will need to contact us by email. Please be aware that if you chose a 40 week contract, you will not be able to extend that contract for the summer.
